chinese good luck trees?

We bought this tree and I think it’s like a Chinese tree that is supposte to bring you good luck with money. It is kind of like braided…and if the tree dies that means ur not having any good luck with money. Does anybody have any idea?? Anyone who is Chinese that might know?

    Is it maybe this tree (see pic)? Ficus benjamina?
