Braided Money Tree

I have a large money tree, atleast that is what I think they call it? But I was wanting to know how to trim it and if you can get starters from it aswell? I have two of them and they are way to big for the office, and I do not want to kill them.
This is no joke, this is a real plant not a funny. That is what I have been told it is called.

Ok here is the deal my daughter in 5th grade just told me today that a project is due on Wed …(nothing like waiting till last min!!) they had to come up with inventions and create them she had decided to try to make an money tree with an atm and I am now searching for different ideas if anyone one out there is creative and crafty could shoot some ideas this was that would be sooooo helpful!!!
