    on a radio station once a person called in to ask for advice on this same subject… It was found out that it is poor ettiquate to ask for money in any form. However what you are to do is simply state that the bride and groom have all they need and what not and request that a donation be given in the name of a charity. You are to then choose a charity. Most people wont give to the charity but will still leave money for the cost of the wedding
