I have a money tree that looks sad, any ideas?

My money tree is now un-braiding (not sure if i was supposed to braid it) and all of the lower leaves are falling off and dying. I just repotted it this week and there is lots of new growth on the top of each branch, however the back of the plant is bare and now I am loosing all lower leaves. Any ideas?
