The belief is every leaf on the tree represents some of your money. Prune some leaves off and you will lose some money. Just check which money tree you have because a few plants have the name money tree, including a South African succulent. If you are not superstitious it's best to prune the tree to keep it compact. Prune off long stems and sticking out leaves. The tree can also be turned into a bonsai where you prune the roots as well as the foliage. No it is not OK to prune your money tree. Morning sun, and don't overwater!! Plant in porous soil, add some "filler" to your potting mix.
