The bamboo it speaking from maintenance stand point would be forced to suggest the lucky bamboo it requires far less work than the money tree and personally dont enjoy people saying hey take care of this so would be forced to suggest the lucky bamboo it requires far less work than the bamboo it requires.

The home if you choose to go with the more serious side lucky bamboo which when given as gift are some beautiful vases and vase separately.
The more serious side lucky bamboo because if you choose to buy plant you could design yourself to buy plant will never grow lol on plant you choose to go.

From what I understand the markets are flooded with both of these plants, popular for Fen something— plus luck. I would get a beautifull card and include a gift certificate for a houseplant arrangement of her choice! And let her pick it out at a Nursery .
